Curacao music talent at North Sea Jazz

The enthusiastic Curacao-based Dennis Aalse Youth Orchestra (DOYA) will give several performances at the North Sea Jazz festival, which will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on 13, 14, and 15 July, 2018.

The renowned orchestra, which was founded by conductor, trumpeter, and music teacher Dennis Aalse, consists of forty young students between the ages of 10 and 20 from the Dennis Aalse Music School. Fifteen selected members will travel to Rotterdam. Their performances during North Sea Jazz is made possible by Fundashon Bon Intenshon, which is also the initiator of the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival

The orchestra has an extraordinary line-up: in addition to the ‘standard’ big band line-up of horns, rhythm section, and vocals, there’s also a place for cello, violin, and flute. The orchestra is well-known for its great joy in playing as well as its cheerful repertoire. The experienced orchestra has performed multiple times as well during Curacao International Film Festival Rotterdam.
