On Thursday, August 28, 2014, the complete Dutch Metropole Orchestra paid tribute to Curaçao artist DOBLE-R (Rignald Recordino) during a free concert on the Sam Cooke stage right at the CNSJ Festival site at World Trade Center.
On April 30, 2014 no less than 10,000 free entrance tickets had been handed out during the King’s Day festivities in the historic Pietermaai District of Punda. In answer to the great demand for free tickets for the concert, the organization decided to broadcast the concert live on a huge screen at Brionplein. In no time, the Brionplein was filled with an enthusiastic audience on August 28th.
A number of Curaçao artists, including Izaline Calister, Giovanca and Shirma Rouse, Ompie Stefania, and Gibi Doran, enticed the public to dance the night away during this free concert, a gift for the residents of Curaçao, that has become a tradition during the CNSJ weekend.
The Tribute to Doble R was made possible by Fundashon Bon Intenshon in cooperation with Mojo Concerts.
