Festival di Pueblo

In 2018, Fundashon Bon Intenshon introduces the first edition of a new annual festival: Festival di Pueblo, which will take place in the Breedestraat, Otrobanda on 2 July: Curacao Flag Day.

With the well-known and popular Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival, Curaçao International BlueSeas Festival, and Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam, Curaçao has by now earned a very nice international niche in hosting a variety of festivals which attract thousands of visitors to the island annually.

What was missing in that line of popular celebrations was a festival totally dedicated to Curaçao’s own cultural and artistic heritage. A fest where local artists, writers, poets, and musicians would gather to share long forgotten stories, songs, and theatrical art expressions, and where traditional food, goodies, sweets, and Grandma’s cuisine is prepared and sold.

The Festival di Pueblo is bringing all the aforementioned elements together with the aim of creating a sustainable good vibration among the people of Curaçao.

The program starts at 13:00 hrs and all activities are centered around the main street of Otrobanda and Brionplein on stages named after renowned local artists, such as Boy Dap, Macario Prudencia, Elis Juliana, Rudy Plaate, and Doble R.
